In the post-Roe era, more than 20 states have abortion bans, forcing patients to travel long distances to get the health care they want and need from clinics like DuPont. This wall features heartfelt and uplifting messages of thanks from DuPont patients to the staff, including doctors, nurses, and specially trained doulas. Patients who come to this clinic receive the kind of compassionate and caring care that I feel everyone in this country deserves.
Earlier in the day, I visited the local DuPont Clinic, where the team faces the relentless challenges of America’s post-Dobbs reproductive health landscape every day. DuPont’s staff provides top-notch health care to women across this country, including those who have made the arduous journey from states where the government has effectively taken control of their bodies. People of my generation have fewer rights than those who came before us. Yet I left DC feeling hopeful and energized, because I know that the champions I met—and the 41 million of my peers eligible to vote in this election on November 5—won’t sit idly by and wait for things to change. If we mobilize to elect Vice President Harris and Governor Walz to the White House, and we win key congressional races across the country, we have a chance to reclaim our rights through national legislation next year.
