As the album is released and the hype around the film continues in the lead-up to its release, Gaga hopes the two projects will resonate with Little Monsters in the way it has with her. "I have such amazing fans. It was great to see them in London tonight," Gaga said. "They had the Harlequin cover and they did the make-up. It was great to see." Watch the full video above. Roald Dahl's dinner table, the summer of 1983, and his publishers banding together to secure a public apology. A firestorm of criticism is brewing over a book review in which Dahl appears to hold all Jews personally responsible for Israel's military actions in Beirut, and (in this shocking and feverish new play, starring John Lithgow as Dahl) two Jews and a (big, sometimes friendly) author discuss the response over sorbet.

The Harlequin Listening Party was another topic of discussion; the concept album features songs like “Smile,” “The Joker,” and “That’s Life.” (Read Vogue’s review of the album here.) She produced the record with her fiancé, Michael Polansky. “Harlequin is my interpretation of all the music from the film, as well as some of the originals,” she says. “We had this really special experience together doing Joker. I wasn’t done with Lee when I finished shooting the movie.” The original song “Happy Mistake” has become a favorite. “That song is a very personal look at who Lee was,” she says, “and my relationship with playing broken women throughout my career in different ways.”
“It was a really special and fun experience to bring the movie to the world,” she says. “Arianne Phillips and I did the styling for this movie together; we had a difficult task, because everyone has this idea of Harley Quinn, and we wanted to create something completely new. The clothes were a little more juvenile, more youthful.” Gaga also mentions her red carpet look at the film’s London premiere—a custom red Celine dress with a puffy-sleeved bolero jacket. Since she and designer Hedi Slimane have a history in fashion, he was a natural choice for her first look on the Joker press tour. “We’ve known each other for a long time—he photographed me for the cover of my album The Fame Monster,” she says. “[That look] means elegant and a little bit rebellious. Two things I love!”
